Now I can feel how horrific they must have had felt while crossing to this side of the border after partition.Īnd I was teaching partition to Students for 4 years but after reading this book I can proudly say that my lecture on the partition is never going to be the same again. The book evoked feelings of guilt & regret in me because I never paid attention to partition tales that my grandfather tried to tell me & willfully ignored them. I liked it personally because my grandparents also experienced the same but this book made me more conscious about my or "our" past. It was a touching book, full of personal emotions. This book has helped me reviving the memories of my grandparents and made them more pristine. She has tried to narrate the stories of partition through material memory. In this episode, I talk about the book Remnants of a Separation by Aanchal Malhotra.
